Kate Bradley Chernis - KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Founder & CEO Lately

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Kate Bradley Chernis is the Founder & CEO of Lately, the only all-in-one Marketing Dashboard that pulls together content, project management, analytics and more in one place, at a small-business price. As a former marketing agency owner, Kate, initially created the idea for Lately out of spreadsheets for then-client, Walmart. Well, not just Walmart. It was a partnership between Walmart, United Way Worldwide, National Disability Institute, and tens of thousands of local, small business and nonprofit affiliates who were all using her spreadsheet system – because they all had the same problems: a lack of coordination, widespread redundancies, no visibility and no organization. With Kate’s spreadsheet system, they achieved a 130%, three year, year-over-year ROI.

In fact, Kate found similar success with all of her clients, regardless of industry or company size. So, along with one heck of a superhero team, she created Lately to organize the mess, automate repetitive processes and eliminate the ``overwhelming`` feeling that every marketer she'd ever met had complained about.

Prior to founding Lately, Kate served 20 million listeners as Music Director and on-air host at Sirius/XM. She’s also an award-winning radio producer, engineer and voice talent with 25 years of national broadcast communications, brand-building, sales and marketing expertise.

Patricia M. Mulligan

Attorney

WORKSHOP : WOMEN LEADERS : FORGING OUR OWN PATHS W/ STRENGTH, CONFIDENCE & INTEGRITY

Leadership requires much of any individual, male or female. However, women face unique challenges, experienced in the workplace daily, which make the hill a little steeper, but not impossible to climb.

As leaders, women work in business environments inescapably affected by sexual harassment and the #Me Too movement, by pay inequities based on gender, as well as myriad other challenges. Our discussion will focus on how we, as women entrepreneurs and leaders, manage our employees, guard against corporate and individual liability for the misconduct of staff and create work environments that inspire those who look to us to lead.

BIO :
Patricia M. Mulligan is a labor & employment attorney with over 25 years of experience representing both employers and employees in the private and public sector.

Ms. Mulligan began her legal career as an attorney for the City of New York, holding various positions including Director of Equal Employment Opportunity for the New York City Department of Correction, during which time she was responsible for the investigation of over 400 complaints of workplace discrimination; promulgating and enforcing workplace anti-discrimination and harassment policies; drafting and monitoring the effectiveness of the Agency's discrimination compliant procedure, and conducting agency-wide training on issues such as sexual harassment prevention and diversity and sensitivity training.

Ms. Mulligan has held distinguished positions during her decades long practice in the area of labor & employment law including service on a New York City Mayoral Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, and service on a Gubernatorial Round Table on matters of gender discrimination. Ms. Mulligan has also been called upon to testify before a U.S. Congressional Subcommittee examining the impact of attorney representation on cases pending before the New York State Division of Human Rights.

Ms. Mulligan is a trusted advisor to small and medium-sized businesses, addressing their unique, employment-related needs and offering compliance review and advice aimed at avoiding scrutiny and/or litigation under applicable labor and employment laws. When necessary, Ms. Mulligan defends clients vigorously in litigation brought in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies such as the NYS and US Departments of Labor, the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the NYS Division of Human Rights and the National Labor Relations Board.
